Burst Port Toe Subs
Initiate Well Performance
The Talon burst port toe subs are alternatives to traditional tubing conveyed toe perforation at a fraction of the cost. They are opened by pressurizing the wellbore at surface, providing an intervention-less solution to perform DFIT, initiate communication with the reservoir, and complete stimulation operations.
Talon I:
Economical and reliable solution that integrates into a variety of completion designs in today’s unconventional horizontal completions.
Plug & perf, ball drop and sliding sleeve completions
Open hole or cemented completions, including high density cement applications
Talon II: Incorporates Kobold’s proven positive locate and re-closable sleeve technology, giving operators greater versatility and control of their reservoir.
Kobold’s ShortSHIFT BHA can be deployed to close the Talon II or re-open using a coiled-tubing resettable packer BHA.
FEATURES:
Compact design means easier handling.
Customer specified pre-programmable burst pressure: 24.5, 28, 33 or 40 MPa.
Flush wellbore to clean up debris prior to wellbore intervention, frac operations.
Open toe port establishes feed rate/flow rate to assist with pumping tools down to toe of the wellbore.
Eight ports provide 360º coverage.
Full ID to match parent casing; no restrictions for all tooling to pass through.
BENEFITS:
Intervention-less open ability increases efficiency and eliminates coiled-tubing or tubing conveyed toe perforation costs.
Increases operational efficiency through establishing flow rate to assist with pumping tools down to toe of the wellbore.
